My Classroom!!!

I thought you might enjoy some pictures of my classroom, and let's face it, I probably won't post anything for a while since school starts on Monday. I have been busy with training and getting my classroom set up, but I am finally finished so I wanted to share, I love how it turned out! I am in an eMintz classroom, which just means I have a Promethean board (interactive white board) and lots of computers. It is pretty cool, but I can't change the desks around because of power strips. Here are a couple before pics...it was pretty intimidating trying to figure out how to fill all of the white space.

This is the view straight in through the door. I am lucky I have windows! The fourth grade intern last year didn't have them.

Class jobs chart. We have jobs for just about everything, so I don't have to do much to take care of our classroom!
This is the side bulletin board with a writer's workshop bulletin board and the jobs. We do a program called AR reading where the kids read books and take quizzes for points. The little signs at the top are the "AR Hiking Trail" and each student will have a little boot with their name on it that will move as they progress in reading levels.
Hall passes. One says Hall Pass and the other is an Outhouse pass:) They have 3x5 cards with their names that they have to put in the little pockets that way one boy and one girl can go out at a time and I know who is in the bathroom or elsewhere.
They can't get back in the school at lunch without a pass and the fourth grade teachers all have their students finish their homework during lunch if they didn't do it the night before.
Reading corner, thanks mom for the cool leaf. We made it stay up with a bucket and some rocks!
Right side of the classroom, Thanks Krisha for the awesome computer covers, they fit perfectly!!! And they look much better than mine, but I don't have time to fix mine now so oh well:)
What you see when you first walk in the room.
Left side of the room!
This is the sign outside the door, as of now I have 27 students, but everyone says the first week is crazy and I might end up with more.
Everyday we will have a new question and the students will move their names up to answer it. It will be a quick way to take roll because whoever is left I know is absent. As long as they all answer the question:)
Sign outside the door to tell visitors where we are so they don't have to go searching the school. Hope you enjoyed the pictures! I'm not too nervous about my first day yet, but I know I won't get any sleep tomorrow night. We will just have fun the first week getting to know each other and learning class rules and procedures. Hopefully it won't be too long before I can update again. I'll let you know how the kids like daycare and school!!

Your room looks amazing!! That is such an modern classroom, with the computers and smartboard! Good luck on your first day with your students, Kenzies class list had 25 kids on it, but they only ended up with 20, I don't think you will get that lucky out there. We have Back to School night on Thursday, so I can see what 4th grade is like in CA!

Your class room looks great! I hope you have a great year. And I know this is awful- but I am bad with names- but who is Hallie? (Ronan's mom) and how would I know her? Just so I don't look like an idiot if she knows me and I haven't recognized her!
